Core Rules

How It Works

Open sign-up, anytime

You can join the Flex League at any point during the season. Sign in to your STC account, pick your division and skill tier, and submit your registration. Registrations are approved by admin before you appear on the public roster.

Weekly match assignments

Once registered and approved, you will be paired with another player in your division for that week's match. If you sign up mid-week you will receive a bye for that week and be assigned a match the following week. STC will notify you by email and on the website when a match is assigned.

You arrange the time and place

After you receive your match assignment, reach out to your opponent using the contact info listed on your roster cards. There is no in-app messaging — coordinate directly by phone, email, or Instagram.

Confirm and choose a scoring format

When you receive a match, log in to the STC website and confirm you will play. At the same time, select your preferred scoring format (8-Game Pro Set or Best 2-of-3 Sets to 6) and ad or no-ad. Your opponent does the same. The final format is determined after both players have chosen — neither player can see what the other picked until both have confirmed.

Report results honestly

After the match, either player can submit the result on the website. The other player then confirms or disputes it. The result only counts toward standings once the opponent has confirmed it.

Disputes go to admin

If the score is disputed, STC admins review the details and make the final call. Admins can manually edit any match, schedule, or score at any time.

Sportsmanship matters

STC may remove players for unsportsmanlike conduct, dishonest reporting, or repeatedly failing to respond to opponents or confirm match assignments.

Scoring Format Selection

For each assigned match, both players log in and independently select their preferred scoring format: 8-Game Pro Set or Best 2-of-3 Sets to 6. They also choose Ad scoring or No-Ad (tiebreak at deuce). A third option — Don't Care— defers to the other player's choice. The final format is revealed to both players only after both have submitted their preference.

STC Points

  • The top 3 finishers in every division earn STC Points at season's end.

  • All players who participated (at least one approved match) receive a small base number of participation points.

  • Points contribute to the main STC leaderboard alongside tournament results.

Score Reporting & Disputes

After your match, either player can report the result on the website. The other player receives a notification and must confirm or dispute it. Approved results update the standings immediately.

If the reported score is wrong, the opposing player can flag a discrepancy. A notification goes to STC admin (Slone Early) and spurtennisclub@gmail.com for review.

Matches must be completed by the end of the assigned week. Players who consistently ignore their assignments may be removed from the league.
