About Us

HOWDY!

My name is Slone Early and I am behind Spur Tennis Club. I have been playing tennis for about five years now and I absolutely love everything about this sport. I am a full time college student at Texas A&M studying Geographic Information Science and Technology with a minor in Computer Science. I've put on a number of local tournaments in Gatesville, Texas, including the first annual Ethan Sandell Memorial Tournament. I also worked at the Texas A&M Women's Tennis Camp as a camp counselor, as well as having worked at Ridgewood Country Club's tennis camp for 2 years, and assisted the Gatesville High School tennis camp for 4 years. I have also hosted my own free tennis camp called the Gatesville High School Tennis Preparation Camp, where I helped a number of junior high and freshmen players get ready for high school tennis.

When I was in high school, there were an abundance of tournaments for players to enter without having to travel great distances. After being in college for a year, I wanted to start entering tournaments again, and I quickly realized how few tournaments there were in my area! I wanted to change that. I wanted to give the players in my area the same consistent oppurtunites to play and grow that I had. As such, the Spur Tennis Club was born.

If you are interested in hosting a Spur Tennis Club tournament at your facility, please contact 254-223-1228 or email spurtennisclub@gmail.com.

A Very Special Thanks

None of this would be possible without my amazing parents, Sam and Se'Vette Early. They both run their own business, Rafter Ê Productions, a barrel racing producer that operates all over Texas. They have supported me every step of the way, through making inventory, organizing my tournaments, sponsoring prizes, getting my events out on social media, and so much more. I cannot be more thankful for the love and support they have given me.
